the shift was right around the Civil Rights Movement.
After 1970, it was basically a switch. The modern Democrats are more closely linked to pre-WWII Republicans, while the modern GOP falls more in line with pre-WWII Dems.
I just hate that this bill has caused so much partisianship. With acclaimed senators like McCain, a PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE, says that the GOP will refuse to even work with the Dems after this, what does that say about the GOP, and our country in general?
That if we dont get exactly what we want, we should just refuse to participate? Instead of trying to compromise and work thru it, we should just give up, and refuse to cooperate???
Thats the scariest part. I know I fall more in line with liberal ideology, and I know what I am about to say will just be shrugged off as GOP-bashing, but its the truth.
If the GOP does not get exactly what it wants when it wants, it resorts to fear mongering hate and childish behavior like name calling and refusing TO DO THEIR JOBS because the majority passed a bill they don't like.
